Congratulations to the U18 AA team on winning gold at the Paul Dossey Memorial Tournament in South Simcoe this past weekend.
The team showed up to win and battled hard all weekend. The Renegades finished first place in round robin play with a 2-1 record with wins against the Vaughan Rangers and Cumberland Jr. Grads, and a loss against the TNT Tornadoes. In the semi-finals, the Renegades faced the Cumberland Jr. Grads again, who wanted the win. Down 2-0, the Renegades managed to tie it up and head into overtime and then took the win in a shootout to move on to the finals.
In the Championship game vs. TNT Tornadoes, both teams played a very close and entertaining game with the Renegades up 1-0 going into the 3rd period. In the end, the Renegades held off a TNT goal to seal the championship win with the shut out!!
It was a great weekend of hockey - congrats U18 AA!
