A huge congratulations to the Newmarket Renegades U16 AA team on winning Gold in the Capital Winter Classic Tournament Championship in Ottawa this past weekend.
The team went 5-1 in the tournament, including 2 shutouts. In the Championship game the players defeated the very talented Ottawa Valley Silver Seven, currently ranked 2nd in the province, with a goal in the last minute of the 3rd period to clinch the tournament victory 2-1.
A big shout out to all the players for their hard work, grit, and perseverance, and also to the coaches and parents. It was a great weekend of hockey and a hard-fought victory leading up to our International Silver Stick tournament and playoffs!
