Huskies Classic - U15 BB Silver Medalists
The Newmarket Renegades U15 BB team brought home Silver Medals from the Hamilton Huskies Classic Tournament this past weekend.
In the final game in the Championship B division, our Renegades showed determination and spirit, coming back from being behind on the scoreboard several times throughout the game. With less than 3 seconds left in the third they again tied the game to bring it to overtime. After 5 minutes of 3 on 3 the score was still tied and ultimately it came down to a shootout to decide the winner.
The Coaching staff are extremely proud of the team for what they have accomplished to this point. They are just about to begin the regular season, and our players are continuing to improve on the use of offensive and defensive systems which they demonstrated throughout the tournament against some very tough opponents.
This group has also dealt with a lot of adversity off the ice and are coming together as a team unit. If what we just witnessed in Hamilton is indicative of the season ahead, we look forward to creating many wonderful memories around the game of hockey with this group of players.
