Dear Santa,
As Christmas quickly approaches we thought we should send you a letter to make sure our Christmas wish comes true.
But Santa, in case you forgot, the U14AA Team has been very good this year. We've given back to our community by volunteering for the town on Canada Day, raised food for food drives, and raised funds for Crystal Ladders.
And Santa - our family, friends and supporters have also been good - running a concession stand for our fundraising, driving us to all our games (and even Montreal for a tournament), home-baking us cupcakes as we celebrate birthdays, and supporting us in many untold ways.
Santa, we've also had a lot of fun this year, playing ultimate frisbee and mini sticks, going to pool parties and 4-wheeling parties and hockey games, and sharing a lot of memories with our teammates.
Santa - we know we are a very lucky group of boys - we are so very lucky to have the opportunity to play a game we love, with our friends.
And Santa - we're not going to ask for luck to win our games, because we don't need it - we believe in ourselves, and our abilities to play well.
Santa - what we do wish for is joy and peace.
Joy - We wish for joy so that we always remember that we play this game for fun, and that at the end of the day, when we're old like our parents, we'll will remember the great times, and the handsome faces of our team mates.
Peace - We wish for peace so that we remember we have done all we can, applied our skills, put forth all of our effort, and have left it all on the ice.
Santa - there's a lot going on in the world, people with problems far greater than a bad goal or a loss, and children who will never experience the fun of being on a team. So Santa - please bring hope to all of those that need it, and spread a little extra love from the U14AA team.
So Santa, in closing, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
From your U14AA Newmarket Renegades
