Renegades U11 A Team Triumphs in Kingston Canadians Tournament
Congratulations to the Renegades U11 A team who embarked on an exhilarating journey during the Kingston Canadians Tournament this past weekend. Their unwavering spirit and collective effort propelled them to victory, marking their second tournament win of the season and their third appearance in a tournament championship game.  A big Thank You goes out to their fantastic coaching team who kept the players focused and ready for each puck drop.

The tournament unfolded with intensity in their opening game against the Kanata Blazers. The Renegades found themselves trailing by two goals in the first period. But they refused to yield, mounting a remarkable comeback to secure a 4-3 victory. This early display of resilience set the tone for their subsequent battles.  Next up were the Napean Raiders, who faced the full force of the Renegades’ prowess. With an impressive 8-1 triumph, the Renegades left no doubt about their dominance on the ice. Their teamwork, and creativity left spectators in awe. The third game against the Orleans Blues proved to be a test of endurance. Despite a hard-fought battle, the teams settled for a 1-1 tie. Yet, the Renegades remained undeterred, knowing that every point mattered in their pursuit of glory. As the tournament progressed, the Renegades clashed with the Ottawa Sting. The stakes were high, but the Renegades emerged victorious with a 3-2 win.

The semi-final showdown featured the formidable Leaside Flames Red team. The Renegades, fueled by determination, shut down their opponents, with a 2-0 win.  And then came the championship game—a heart-pounding encounter with the undefeated Loyalist Jets. Regulation time ended in a 0-0 stalemate, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. In overtime, with just 37 seconds remaining, the Renegades seized their moment. A lightning-fast play, a perfectly timed shot, and the puck found the back of the net.

The coaching staff and management are incredibly proud of the young athletes on the U11A roster this year. With four tournaments under their belts, they’ve reached the finals three times, securing two championships. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to improve have made them true champions.
