Lake Placid Can/Am Challenge Cup Champions
The Newmarket Renegades U12AA Team brought home gold from the Lake Placid Can/Am Challenge Cup this weekend. We were the only Canadian team in our division and remained undefeated through our round robin games against Boston Jr Rangers, Seacoast Spartans and Bay State Breakers. The championship game had us facing undefeated Team Philadelphia and it was a very competitive game that remained in a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation time!10 minutes of nail biting overtime resolved nothing and we were off to a shoot out!!
The shoot out format was a best of three and our Renegades pulled it off scoring on all three shots!! Our goalie saved two of the three shots he faced and handled the pressure like a champ!!Congratulations to all the boys on their success and a special thanks to Can/Am Hockey for hosting us and providing an experience that none of us will forget!!
