Mike began playing hockey at a young age in East Gwillimbury. A few years later he began playing in Newmarket where he developed a deep love for the game. At 16, Mike moved on to play Junior hockey. He finished his competitive hockey career as an Assistant Captain of the Uxbridge Bruins.
Mike credits the structured approach of his coaches for his development and hopes to bring a similar approach to the athletes on his team. Mike believes that lessons learned while playing hockey can be the building blocks of success later in life. Hard work, learning to work as a team, and the resiliency to overcome adversity are all attributes that can be learned in hockey.
Starting in 2013, Mike began coaching his three children through the Timbits Initiation Programs with NMHA and was an Assistant Coach in the NMHA Rep system for the past 2 seasons.
