My name is Pete Orr, both my wife and I were raised in Newmarket, and are proud to now be raising our own Family in the same great community that we both grew up in.
Raised in a sports family, I played both minor Hockey and Baseball for Newmarket, and was fortunate enough to have great support and fantastic Coaches along the way. My passion for the game of Hockey has always been a huge part of my life, even when Baseball took over as my path. I was lucky enough to play Baseball professionally for 16 years, including parts of 8 seasons at the MLB level for the Braves, Nationals and Phillies. I also had the great honor of representing Canada around the globe, including at the 2004 Olympics, in 4 World Baseball Classics, and with a Gold Medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games.
Hockey has always had a place deep in my heart, and when the baseball playing days came to an end, it was right back to the rink and into an involvement with minor Hockey. Before accepting this role as U13AA Head Coach, I have enjoyed my time as an Assistant Coach and Trainer within NMHA for the past 5 years. With the help of a supportive Staff, I will provide the 2011 age group with a commitment to both Team and Individual skill development, and will continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for these young athletes to enjoy the game of Hockey.
