The Battle of Yonge Street is Back!
The 14th annual Home & Home Weekend is here!  A tradition that started in 2006 has grown into an annual weekend long community event where the Newmarket Redmen face off against the Aurora Tigers in a series of games taking place from Oct 24-27 at the Magna Centre, Ray Twinney 2, Aurora Community Centre and Stronach ARC. This is definitely one of the most exciting weekends of the year for all of our athletes, with some friendly competition against our neighbours to the south!

Aurora currently leads 7-6 over the past 13 seasons, so the Redmen are looking to tie it up this year! Ceremonial puck drop by Newmarket’s Mayor John Taylor will be Fri Oct 25th at 7pm at the Magna Centre, Forhan rink ahead of the Minor Midget AA game. GO REDMEN!

A BIG THANK YOU to our Home & Home Weekend SponsorsDickie’s No Frills and Kelseys Original Roadhouse Aurora for generously donating Player of the Game Awards for both teams during all the Newmarket home games in the series.

Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm we will have a variety of vendors in the Magna Centre lower level lobby, including Ultimate Sports with Redmen apparel available for purchase, Douglas Hockey, Banana Boutique, Sports Clips and Little Craft.

This annual event also provides us all a great opportunity to give back in our community. To this end, Oct 25-27th, NMHA, in partnership with Home & Home Weekend Sponsor Dickie’s No Frills will be hosting a Food Drive event in support of the Newmarket Food Pantry at the Magna Centre.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items in Front of the Hall of Fame (Magna Centre lower level) on Fri Oct 25th from 5:30-8:00pm, and at the Dickie’s No Frills tent over the weekend, outside the lower level entrance on Saturday Oct 26th from 12-7pm and Sunday Oct 27th from 11-7pm.

Dickie's No Frills has also been kind enough to prepare brown bags of non-perishable food items available for purchase (for $5 and $10) to donate on Saturday and Sunday as well. Read more details on most needed items.

Thank you so much for helping us to stock the Newmarket Food Pantry’s shelves and support their efforts to feed those in need in our community! GO REDMEN GO!!!
