Home & Home Weekend Food Drive
Submitted By Jennifer Neale on Tue 10 22, 19
It’s that time of year again – the 14th annual Home & Home Series takes place this weekend! This year, the “Battle of Yonge Street” will include some friendly rivalry between Aurora and Newmarket minor hockey teams while also focusing on charitable causes in the community.

From Oct 25-27th, the NMHA, in partnership with Home & Home Weekend Sponsor Dickie’s No Frills will be hosting a Food Drive event in support of the Newmarket Food Pantry. We will be collecting non-perishable food items inside the Magna lower level entrance on Fri Oct 25th from 5:30-8:00pm and at the Dickie’s No Frills tent over the weekend, outside the Magna lower level entrance on Saturday Oct 26th from 12-7pm and Sunday Oct 27th from 11-7pm.

Dickie's No Frills has also been kind enough to prepare brown bags of non perishable food items in preset denominations available for purchase to donate on Saturday and Sunday as well.

What Items to Donate
It is the goal of the Newmarket Food Pantry to provide as much healthy food as they can to their clients. With that in mind, please ensure that all items are not past their best before date. We are only able to accept non-perishable food items.  To help us with that aim, here is a list of the most needed items at the Newmarket Food Pantry currently:
  • Soup: broth, chicken noodle, vegetable
  • Canned Stew
  • Canned Meat: flakes of ham/turkey/chicken/tuna/salmon
  • Canned Vegetables: tomatoes, green beans, corn
  • Cereal
  • Juice boxes
  • Crackers
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Baby Items: all sizes of diapers, chicken & beef baby food, baby cereal

Thank you so much for helping us to stock the Newmarket Food Pantry’s shelves and support their efforts to feed those in need in our community!
