Hello and welcome to the Newmarket Renegades U18 BB evaluation page.
My name is Mike Maltais, and I will be coaching the U18 BB team. I am really looking forward to coaching this amazing group again this season. I will be looking to build upon the success and culture that the 2009 and 2008 age groups have established over the years. The double cohort year will create a very competitive evaluation process in which all new and returning players should come prepared to earn their spot on this team.
Skills I will be looking for:
- Skating / Passing / Shooting / Puck Handling
- Compete Level / Hockey Sense-IQ / Focus / Desire
- Player and body positioning
Finally, it is imperative that the players are coachable and open to suggestions by all coaching staff, as well as value being a good teammate.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the rink and wish each participant good luck throughout the evaluation process this year.
