The Newmarket Minor Hockey Association Executive is thrilled to formerly announce the long-awaited return of Renegades Rep Banquets on April 16 & 17, 2025.

THE NMHA IS OFFERING WARM-UP SKATES FOR U8-U18 ATHLETES WHO ARE REGISTERED AND PARTICIPATED IN THE NMHA DURING THE 2024-25 SEASON

Newmarket Minor Hockey will be hosting First Shift again in March of 2025! Registration will open on June 3 at noon at www.firstshift.ca. This year the fee is $299 which includes full equipment and 6 skates! The NHL/NHLPA First Shift is open to children ages 6-10*, who have never previously enrolled in minor hockey within Canada or the NHL/NHLPA First Shift program. *To be eligible to participate, children must be born between January 1, 2013 and May 1, 2018.

Body-checking is an integral part of rep hockey starting at Minor Bantam and will be assessed during this year’s tryouts. It is highly recommend that all athletes wishing to participate in the 2017-2018 team tryouts for the 2017-2018 Minor Bantam (2004) and Bantam (2003) age groups have some prior training in body-checking. As a result, the NMHA will offer body-checking clinics for these age groups. Please note, your athlete MUST have been registered with the NMHA for the 2016-2017 season in order to qualify.

2017-2018 Rep Coaches: The NMHA would like to express their sincere thanks to the volunteer time provided by this year’s Coach Selection Committee Members. With 29 Coaching positions to fill, they invested countless hours combing through resumes, interviewing and gathering feedback from our 60th season to make their selections from the 48 applicants who stepped forward.

Welcome to the U14BB Newmarket Renegades Program.

As we gear up for the evaluation skates, we encourage all eligible 2012 born players to consider the Newmarket U14BB team as their destination for a great hockey experience in the upcoming season.

The core of this team is built on respect, hard work, high compete, perseverance in an environment that is supportive but also holds the players accountable to achieving their maximum potential in a team environment.

Evaluations this year will likely include players from other centers with the introduction of open borders. It is important for all players considering the U14BB program that they bring a positive mindset and give their maximum effort in pursuit of securing a position for the upcoming season.

We look forward to seeing everyone shortly.
