Coach’s Welcome Letter
Dear Players and Parents,
Welcome to the 2025/26 hockey season! I’m Coach Corey, and I’m thrilled to kick things off with the upcoming U12A tryouts for the Newmarket Renegades. Whether you're returning to the program or joining us for the first time, I want to thank you for your interest, commitment, and enthusiasm as we prepare for an exciting season ahead.
At the heart of this team is a simple but powerful philosophy: development first. — That means not only improving your skills on the ice, but also building character, resilience, teamwork, and a genuine love for the game. My goal is to help every player become the best version of themselves — both as an athlete and as a person.
Tryout Process
This year, we have 17 roster spots available:

9 Forwards

6 Defense

2 Goalies
Each tryout will be carefully evaluated by multiple independent evaluators. We are looking for players who are self-motivated, team-oriented, positive, and eager to be challenged. The ideal Renegades player brings not only talent, but also a strong work ethic, coachability, and a commitment to growing with their teammates.

Tryouts begin the moment you walk into the rink — attitude, behavior, and effort both on and off the ice are key.

Respect for teammates, coaches, officials, and the game itself will be expected at all times.
This is your chance to show us what you're made of — not just in terms of ability, but in mindset, energy, and how you respond to challenges.
Looking Ahead
As we head into the season, our focus will remain on individual and team development. We’ll work hard, support one another, and strive to get better every single day. This team will be built on respect, accountability, and passion for hockey.
To the players: I wish you the very best during tryouts. Show us your heart, your hustle, and your love for the game. To the parents: thank you for your continued support. Your role in your child’s hockey journey is invaluable, and I look forward to working with you to create a great experience for everyone.
