New to Hockey? First Shift Program is Back!

Newmarket Minor Hockey will be hosting First Shift again in March of 2025! Registration will open on June 3 at noon at www.firstshift.ca. This year the fee is $299 which includes full equipment and 6 skates! The NHL/NHLPA First Shift is open to children ages 6-10*, who have never previously enrolled in minor hockey within Canada or the NHL/NHLPA First Shift program. *To be eligible to participate, children must be born between January 1, 2013 and May 1, 2018.

Dear Parents and Players:

Welcome to the NMHA U12 B Red evaluations for the 2024/25 season.

My name is Kris Bellissimo and I am excited to be coaching the U12 B Red Team this year.

I have been coaching in Newmarket for the last 3 years and I am looking forward to developing the 2013 players at this level.

The goal is to create a positive team environment where players will work together giving it their best effort so that their individual accomplishments will contribute to overall team success. 

Throughout the evaluations I will be looking for players who are committed to personal growth and willing to compete in all aspects of the game. I am hoping for coachable players who demonstrate hockey skills including skating, shooting, passing and more.

I look forward to seeing everyone out there at our first tryout on Sat. Sept. 7th at 4:30pm at Magna Scotiabnak rink.
