Welcome to the U9 MD White 2024/25 Season

Hello and Welcome to the Newmarket Renegades U9 “MD” Home Page

The U9 MD team continue to build a strong cultural foundation for 2016 born Renegades future success.  With a focus on strong inclusive group dynamics, skating, puck handling, and determination - to progress both as a team and individuals.

As we transition from ½ ice to full ice hockey, this will be a season of growth and knowledge building.

Successful candidates must possess strong focus and listening skills along with physical and cognitive abilities to grow with the game.

I look forward to assembling a driven and inspired group for the 2024-25 season.

A couple of important notes:

• All participants must register for the NMHA “Passport” prior to attending our first evaluation
• Non Resident Players (NRP) must come prepared with their NRP Passport signed off by their home association. These will be collected at sign in.
• All players are reminded to wear proper equipment per the OMHA rules. This includes mouth guards and neck protection. Players not wearing appropriate protection will not be permitted to take part in evaluations.

Team Budget:

Player fees for the 2024/25 season can reach up to $2000 per player though hopefully mitigated by way of sponsorship and fundraising.  Initial player fees of $1000 will be expected as of Oct 1st with the balance determined and paid by Nov 1st
Included in the budget will be at least 2 tournaments as well as additional training leading into the migration to full ice.  Please expect to be with the team 3-5 times a week on average.

Pre-Evaluation Skates:

There will be a series of pre-evaluation skates that will be made available.
You must sign up for these through the NMHA website.  These pre-evaluation skates are not part of the evaluation process and there is no mandatory attendance.  These pre-skates will provide an opportunity for players to skate and mentally prepare themselves for the evaluation process.

Those dates will be:

Session #1

• September 3rd– 5:15-6:15 p.m. – Magna Centre – Pfaff Rink

• September 5th – 6:30-7:30 p.m. – Magna Centre – Scotiabank Rink

A couple of important notes regarding this year's evaluations:
