Minor PeeWee AA, 2017-2018 (Newmarket Minor Hockey)

The Minor Peewee AA team started the season off on the right foot with a tournament win in Ajax.  The boys went 2-1 in the preliminary round with the only loss being a 3-2 loss to a very physical team from Pickering.  Making short work of Scarborough in the quarter finals set up a rematch against Pickering in the semifinals.  The boys were not intimidated, picking it up a notch and earning a hard fought 3-1 win.

In the finals on Sunday, the boys continued to gel as a team, earning their 3rd shutout of the weekend, beating Belle River 5-0.

Congratulations on the great start, but this is only the beginning, with lots of work to do before the season.  Keep up the hard work and great things will follow.

Minor Peewee AA Group Standings

There will be 76 teams in this year’s tournament in following Minor Divisions; Atom, Peewee, Bantam and Midget divisions at both “A” and “AA” levels. Teams will come from Ontario Regional Tournaments in Owen Sound, Northumberland, Vaughan, Sudbury, Whitby, Alliston, Stratford, Woodstock, Chatham and, US tournaments in Denver, St Clair Shores, Midland Michigan, Philadelphia, Columbia MD, San Jose, Dayton Ohio, Las Vegas, and Ellenton FL.

The level of competition will be high and games exciting, with all teams competing to be the “best of the best”.   We hope that all players, team staff and parents will enjoy the “atmosphere” of the tournament as well as their visit to Newmarket and surrounding area.
