Minor PeeWee AA, 2017-2018 (Newmarket Minor Hockey)

Congratulations to the 2017-2018 York Simcoe Champions. The Team playing its 70th game of the Year shut out the Markham Waxers 2-0 to win the series 3 games to 2. A great way to finish a very successful year!  Life is a Journey not a Destination, and this has been quite the ride!

The Minor PeeWee AA team continued its tournament play in Buffalo. Participating in an outdoor game, touring the Niagara Purple Eagles dressing room, with a question and answer session with head coach Jason Lammers, were just some of the hi-lights from this past weekends tournament. In round robin play the team ended up with 3 wins and 1 loss, losing to highly ranked Caledon 5-4 in a very competitive game. The game was played on the Purple Eagles rink. The Minor PeeWee AA team continued its tournament winning ways going 6 and O, and securing the 2017 Best of the Best Championship, outscoring its opponents 32-7

The Minor Peewee AA team started the season off on the right foot with a tournament win in Ajax.  The boys went 2-1 in the preliminary round with the only loss being a 3-2 loss to a very physical team from Pickering.  Making short work of Scarborough in the quarter finals set up a rematch against Pickering in the semifinals.  The boys were not intimidated, picking it up a notch and earning a hard fought 3-1 win.
