Atom Red Select -Frank Sabatino Tournament Finalists
Our Atom Red Select team
took to the road this weekend to take part in the 17th Annual Frank
Sabatino Memorial Tournament in Oakville.
After finishing first
in their division the team headed to the semifinal game that ended with a
strong win over the Brampton 45’s sending the Redmen to the finals. In a
nail-biter of a Championship game, our minor/major atom team showed the major
atom Peterborough Budd Wealth Management 47’s that age doesn’t matter when
after 3 periods of intense back and forth scoring, the game was forced into
sudden death overtime. The well matched
battle ended with the Atom Red team taking silver in a showdown of skills and relentless
teamwork.
A special congratulations goes out to Kennedi Croll on winning the well-deserved Frank Sabatino Tournament Chair Sportsmanship award for the entire (16 team) Atom Division. This award recognized a player who, in their life on and off the ice as well as throughout the tournament, best exemplified the principles of having a positive attitude, teamwork, fair play, caring for others and sportsmanship. Congratulations Kennedi!!
A big congratulations to the players and coaches on another successful tournament!
