Atom Red Select, RS, 2017-2018, S (Newmarket Minor Hockey)

Our Atom Red Select team wrapped up their season with one final tournament in Barrie over Easter Weekend. They came out strong winning all four games during divisional play ranking them in 3rd place out of 16 teams.  Heading to the semi final game against the Major Atom Whitby Wildcats our Redmen battled to the end with some amazing goal tending and aggresive offensive and defensive play to win the game 3-2.

Our Atom Red Select team took to the road this weekend to take part in the 17th Annual Frank Sabatino Memorial Tournament in Oakville.    After finishing first in their division the team headed to the semifinal game that ended with a strong win over the Brampton 45’s sending the Redmen to the finals. In a nail-biter of a Championship game, our minor/major atom team showed the major atom Peterborough Budd Wealth Management 47’s that age doesn’t matter when after 3 periods of intense back and forth scoring, the game was forced into sudden death overtime.  The well matched battle ended with ...

Congratulations to the Atom Red Select team on a well-deserved championship win this weekend in the Lefroy Icebreakers tournament!! The team battled hard to keep their undefeated season record allowing only 3 goals the entire tournament.  Passion, determination and amazing teamwork brought the Redmen a 4-1 win in the final game against the Coldwater Wildcats.  Congratulations to all of the players and the coaches on their accomplishment and a big thank you to all of the fans for cheering them on throughout the tournament!

Big kudos go out to our Atom Red Select team for their hard work at the local Food Pantry this week.  They came together and demonstrated the meaning of teamwork by giving back to the community that supports them. Players, siblings and parents provided the food pantry with some much needed donations and also took time to help out by sorting and organizing the donations. Our Atom Red Select team took a break from our regular weekend schedule to catch a Marlies game and celebrate some fundraising success. A big thanks goes out to Newmarket native, Travis Dermott for taking time after the game to meet the team and sign some autographs!!
