Jim Broad (U18 A) (Newmarket Minor Hockey)

PrintJim Broad (U18 A)

Jim Broad started playing organized hockey in Nobleton, Ontario at the age of eight and finished in nearby Schomberg at the age of 20.  He has had a large appreciation for the game of hockey that he still continues today, playing in men's leagues, while helping to  coach in the NMHA in any capacity required.

He has been volunteering with NMHA for 13 years and has lived in Newmarket since 2002 with my wife and three children.  During this time, he has worn many different hats on various hockey teams, including head coach, assistant coach, goalie coach, trainer, parent volunteer, and most importantly...a fan.  Jim spent three seasons as a head coach with the midget-juvenile house league division and during this time, he acquired head coaching experience to further develop his coaching ability and utilize his philosophy on coaching.

During his tenure in the NMHA, Jim has had the privilege of working alongside eight different head coaches and has used that experience to broaden his knowledge and philosophy from the countless volunteers and hockey experts he has learned from.  Jim is excited for the 2021-22 season to safely begin, so he can share what he has learned along his coaching journey with this year's team.
