Mark has had the privilege of being around the game of hockey throughout most of his life, spending most of his youth in Arizona playing for various organizations and travelling the U.S. helped shape his enthusiasm and competitiveness.
Upon the conclusion of his playing days, Mark immediately got into coaching at the youth level and was fortunate to have a great mentor who taught him the responsibility of being a coach, instilling accountability in a team and the importance of keeping players motivated and being a good teammate. Over the past 15 years working with players new to the game and elite players that have gone on to the professional ranks, Mark developed his philosophy for development and overseeing a group that becomes a true team.
Mark believes that teams succeed with dedication and accountability, as these traits help form the foundation for teams that are fundamentally sound who play hard and smart. He strives to work with players who are competitive, mentally tough and will put the team first at all times. Mark believes it's his responsibility to oversee a good team environment, set a positive example and develop the group as people and players.
As new resident of Newmarket, Mark looks forward to being a part of a good organization and making a positive contribution to the community.
