Mike has been involved with the NMHA for over 10 years. The 2025/26 season will be his 12th season on the bench, either as a head coach or assistant coach, helping develop the 2009 age group. He has had the experience of coaching at all the levels offered by the rep program and looks forward to another season as the head coach of the U18 BB team.
Coaching is a passion and something he has been actively involved in throughout his 25 years as an educator with the YRDSB. Mike feels that he has gained a lot of experience dealing with athletes of all ages and in a variety of sports. With that being said, hockey still remains his number one passion, and being at the rink is like a second home to Mike.
His focus this season will be on continuing to develop a safe and fun learning environment where athletes will be given the opportunity to focus on both individual skills and team tactics. Every time they step on the ice, the athletes will be challenged to compete, work on skill development, and improve their hockey knowledge in order to reach team goals. Every player will have an important role on the team and will be responsible for helping develop core values and team culture.
