Pete is excited to be the U15-AA Head Coach for the 2025-26 season. Raised in Newmarket, he played both minor Hockey and Baseball in town and was fortunate to have fantastic Coaches in both sports. Baseball took over as his path during his later teenage years and he was lucky enough to go on to play professionally for 16 years with the great honor of representing Canada around the globe at numerous events. Pete remain involved with baseball as a Milwaukee Brewers Scout and as a Coach on the Canadian Jr. National Team. Hockey has always had a place deep in his heart, and as soon as the baseball playing days came to an end, he quickly found himself right back in the rink and involved in coaching minor hockey. The love for the game of hockey and the passion of working with young driven athletes were a natural fit.
Pete's coaching philosophies are centered around a focus of the “Big Picture”, being a huge believer in the positive impact the game of Hockey can play in a young athlete’s life when it is connected to life skills such as; teamwork, accountability and work ethic. He believes in the importance of Player development as well as Coach development and that both Coach and Player should take equal pride in the challenges to improve. As with this past season, the 2025-26 team will continue to educate, train and push players to be the best they can be, regarding both individual skill/tactics, as well as team tactics and strategies. Players will be required to commit to hard work, a willingness to learn and improve, as well as committing and buying in to our team goals and philosophies.
The 2011 Newmarket Renegades age group has always been a tremendous blend Players and Families. The 2025-26 U15AA Renegades team is looking to continue, maintain and prioritize a healthy and productive Team Culture for all involved.
