Submitted By webmaster on Tuesday, August 16, 2016
Newmarket Minor Hockey, Town of Newmarket and Silver Stick have partnered to offer a program called “Let’s Play Hockey/Pond Hockey”, which embraces the concepts of less structure, fun and family involvement.
Simply defined, it’s “Street Hockey” on ice, kids having fun through the great sport of Hockey. This new program is not intended to replace the competitive and recreational programs already offered by Minor Hockey Associations.

Pond Hockey is another opportunity for youth to play the great game whether it’s for the first time or, simply for fun and, at a lower cost.    Half the time will be spent with instruction on the basics such as skating and some fun activities that uses those basics’.
The 2nd half will be playing the game, no time clocks, no scoreboard, just for fun.The program will be run by Minor Hockey but administered by Town of Newmarket Parks and Recreation.

Registration starts Aug. 24
