Newmarket Wins the Battle of Yonge St.!
Submitted By President on Monday, October 26, 2015
Dear Teams

First off I want to thank everyone for their participation this weekend in making our annual home and home series with Aurora a success. The OMHA Events team was here on Saturday with their shooting range and mini rink for all to enjoy. From the smiles on the kids faces a good time was had by all. We also managed to take in a considerable amount of donations for our local food bank. Thanks to everyone who donated.

Secondly, it's with great pleasure I inform you that we have now returned the "Tiger Jersey" to it's rightful owner and that I personally delivered on Sunday evening to Joe Bentolila President of Aurora Minor Hockey our Redmen Jersey that they can proudly display in their hockey office.

Our teams ended the weekend with an overall record of 20 wins 18 losses and 10 ties. We carried a substantial lead into action on Sunday but with Aurora being the fierce competitor they are, mounted a spirited comeback. But thanks to a win by our Midget AA team on Sunday evening, the Redmen prevailed.
The Home & Home Cup will now be displayed in our hockey office.

Thanks again for a great weekend of hockey. I spent both days at the Magna Centre and saw some great efforts displayed by all of our players, coaches and fans.

Stephen Paine
President
