The Newmarket Minor
Hockey Association is seeking qualified skills development coaches
to support player development across multiple age
groups within our organization.
Our goal is to enhance
the technical development of our athletes
through structured, high-quality skill instruction
during specialized development sessions.
We invite qualified coaches or development companies to submit
proposals outlining their
experience, programming, and pricing for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

1. Association Overview
Newmarket Minor Hockey
Association provides competitive and developmental hockey programming for players
ranging from U7 through U18.
Key details:
•
Approximately 28 rep teams
•
Levels include B/BB - A - AA
•
All sessions to be held at: Ray Twinney Arena
•
Season runs September - January - 20 weeks in total Our organization is committed to:
•
Long-term athlete development
•
Age-appropriate skill progression
•
Positive coaching environments
•
Consistent development programming across teams
2. Scope of Services
The selected skills coaches will provide
on-ice development instruction including, but not limited to:
Skill Development Areas
•
Power skating
/ edge control
•
Puck handling and control
•
Shooting and scoring techniques
•
Passing and puck movement
•
Position-specific
development (forwards /
defense)
•
Small area games and skill-based drills
•
Game situation skill development

Coach Qualifications
Proposals should
outline the following:
•
Coaching background
and years of experience
•
Levels previously
coached or instructed
•
Experience working with minor hockey organizations
•
Coaching philosophy and development approach Preference may be given to coaches who demonstrate:
•
Strong communication with team coaches
•
Structured skill development progression
•
Positive athlete
development environments
•
Experience with youth athletes
4. Proposal Submission Requirements
All submissions should
be completed online

NMHA Skills Development RFQ
The NMHA
reserve the right to accept any submission after the deadline date.

Certifications
Selected coaches must provide:
•
Police vulnerable sector police check
•
Respect in
Sport - leaders course
•
Rowans Law Reference and Acknowledgement
•
Gender Identity and Expression Course
6.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
•
Coaching experience
and qualifications
•
Quality of development programming
•
Alignment with association development philosophy
•
Cost and
value for services
The association reserves the right to select multiple coaches to support different teams or development programs.
