BIG MILESTONE FOR OUR YOUNG RENEGADES
This weekend marked a huge step forward for our U9 MD RED and U9 MD WHITE Newmarket Renegades hockey teams as they officially graduated from half-ice to full-ice game action.

Surrounded by cheering family, proud coaches and excited teammates, the young players celebrated their growth and development so far this season with a special Graduation Game Ceremony at Ray Twinney Recreation Complex this past Sunday.

All of the U9 players were surprised by their parents and coaches by setting up their gear in the Newmarket Hurricanes and U18 AA dressing rooms, complete with balloons and banners to help celebrate their special day.

When game time came around, both U9 team's skaters were announced onto the ice under an arch of sticks created by the oldest members of the NHMA, the players from the U18 AA, U18 A and U18 BB Newmarket Renegades. Representatives from the Town of Newmarket, York Simcoe Minor Hockey League and Newmarket Minor Hockey Association were all on hand to formally usher in the minor rep players to their new size of rink with a ceremonial puck drop at centre ice. A live DJ carried the excitement throughout the games with up-beat music and announcements to give the kids a day they will never forget. Although the outcomes of both games weren't what the hometown crowd was expecting, the young players appear well on their way to becoming amazing hockey teams.

Congratulations to the U9 MD RED and U9 MD WHITE Newmarket Renegades on this incredible milestone. The future of Newmarket hockey looks bright!
