The Battle of Yonge St is BACK!

Let's kick this off right by filling the Ray Twinney Complex on Thursday night with Newmarket Redmen jerseys. Both Aurora and Newmarket have been invited to show their team pride as the Hurricanes drop the puck against their ultimate rivals the Aurora Tigers on Thursday night.

It’s that time of year again, Home and Home Weekend where the Newmarket Redmen face off against the Aurora Tigers in a series of games that takes place October 24th-27th at the Magna Centre and Aurora Community Centre.

 

A tradition that started in 2006, has turned into a weekend long event for community enjoyment which includes not only some competitive rivalry as teams play in a series of hockey games all weekend long.

Weekend Kick-Off Starts with Hurricanes Game vs Aurora Tigers

On Thursday, October 23rd 2014 at the Ray Twinney Complex

Newmarket Hurricanes have declared Thursday October 23rd 2014 as Minor Hockey Day. The Newmarket Hurricane will face the Aurora Tigers to kick off Home and Home Weekend series. Game start is 7:30pm.

Join us at the Hurricanes game and any player wearing their NMHA team Jersey will receive free admission plus family and friends will benefit from 2 for 1 access to the game. Plus, a chance to win tons of prizes from local sponsors GP8 Water, Swiss Chalet, Crabby Joes, Popeye’s, Newmarket Hurricane t-shirts, and upcoming home game tickets. Plus there will be special draw where ticket holders will have a chance to win even more great prizes like a Game worn Hurricanes jersey, Hurricanes hockey bag, Two seasons pass cards and Dinner for 4 in the lounge at an upcoming Hurricanes game. Home and Home Weekend Festivities

Magna Centre - Saturday October 25th and Sunday October 26th from 11am-4pm

Newmarket Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce that Pfaff Automotive Partners are the official sponsor of Home and Home weekend.

Pfaff will be hosting THE PFAFF HOCKEY FUN ZONE. A dedicated space will be set up in the Magna Centre for the kids to test their hockey skills and have fun. Pfaff Automotive Partners are a big supporter of kids in sports and the NMHA. As a community supporter and a Newmarket business partner for the past 50 years, we look forward to a fun weekend.

Plus, as a supporter Pfaff is sponsoring Red Hot Hockey T-shirts, pick up a shirt for only $5.00 (reg $15.00). Supply is limited to first 100 t-shirts on first come basis.

Support the NMHA charity pumpkin sale and food bank collection and receive a RED HOT HOCKEY POSTER (limited supply so come out early) All food bank donations will support the Newmarket Food Pantry.

FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW??? The tradition and competitive rivalry began when teams kept track of scores and the winners got to send their jersey to the opposing centre’s hockey office for the season. This year will break the tie. The series is tied 4-4.
