Important Update: YSMHL Divisional Realignment for Upcoming 2025/2026 Season
In an effort to reduce travel and accommodate the continued growth of the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League (YSMHL), the league and its member associations have voted in favor of a divisional realignment, effective for the 2025/26 season.

Effective immediately, the YSMHL (U10-U18) will be split into two divisions—North/West and South/East—based on the geographical location of each association.

This realignment is designed to improve scheduling efficiency and minimize travel distances for participating teams.

Please note that division alignments may be adjusted depending on the number of teams entered in each division and to ensure scheduling flexibility.

Divisions with 10 or fewer teams will most likely remain unified, while larger divisions will follow the split as outlined below.

Division Alignments:

South/East Division
Newmarket
Richmond Hill
Upper York
Markham
Whitchurch-Stouffville
Aurora
King

North/West Division
Caledon
Orangeville
TNT
Barrie
Collingwood
Georgian Bay (new)
Orillia
South Simcoe

Cross-Divisional Play & Scheduling Cross-divisional games will be limited. Teams will not travel to the opposite division more than once per season. Example: Year 1 – Newmarket travels to Collingwood; Year 2 – Collingwood travels to Newmarket. A regular season will consist of approximately 26 games. The schedule will not be balanced across all teams. Playoff format is still to be determined but is expected to closely follow the format used in the 2024/25 season.
