Congratulations to the Newmarket Renegades U18BB team for winning the Silver Stick tournament in Brampton December 27th thru 29th!!
With competition from across Ontario, the boys faced teams from Brampton, Caledon, Milton, Fergus, and Sarnia. They showed tremendous teamwork, energy, and effort to finish the tournament with a 4-2 record, placing them in the Silver Stick Finals on Sunday
and bringing home the gold!
The first game saw the Renegades face the Brampton 45's and they came out victorious with a 4-1 win. The Newmarket Renegades then faced off against the Caledon Hawks and had a commanding lead throughout the game, winning with a final score of 7-0. In the
third and fourth games, the Renegades faced a tough Milton Winterhawks team and a challenging Centre Wellington Fusion team, both resulting in very close games.
Despite these challenges, the boys finished first in their pool and moved onto the Semi Finals...once again facing the Milton Winterhawks. The boys came ready to play and won 2-0 over Milton, which moved them into the Silver Stick Finals against the Sarnia
Junior Sting. From the start of the game, it was apparent that the boys were there to win! Coming together as a team, the players came out with a 3-2 victory over the Sting to win the Gold medal at the Silver Stick Tournament.
