OHF PLAYER MOVEMENT POLICY FOR THE 2025-2026 SEASON
The Ontario Hockey Federation has officially announced the new policy regarding player movement for the 2025-2026 hockey season.

Essentially, players now have the choice to play for any centre regardless of their residence and no longer require a ‘release’ from the athlete’s home association. The new policy applies to REP hockey from U10-U18 at all levels AAA, AA, A and B/BB.

While there are no restrictions on the number of ‘non-resident’ players under this new policy, the NMHA wholeheartedly believes in the concept of ‘Hometown Hockey,’ and feel we have a responsibility to our local players and membership, while also considering all options to maintain a thriving and competitive rep program at all levels.

The NMHA Executive has been working through this new policy for the past number of months and is in the process of establishing guidelines for our REP program entering the 2025-2026 season. We will be communicating those guidelines as well as opening up our coach applications in the very near future.
