U12A - ESSA FALL CLASSIC CHAMPIONS!!!!
Newmarket Renegades U12A Claim Essa Fall Classic Tournament Victory:   Township of Essa, ON – The Newmarket Renegades U12A hockey team overcame adversity to capture their first Tournament Championship, over the weekend of October 25-27.   The Renegades received bad news just prior to the tournament with one of their rostered forwards out for several weeks with an undisclosed upper-body injury.

The team faced challenges early on, losing their opening game to a strong Haldimand River Kings team, 7-1. However, the Renegades bounced back, battling to a 1-1 tie against the West Niagara Flying Aces. The team received a strong performance from affiliated player, Nicholas Tecca, in both games. Tecca added speed to the lineup and showed a strong work ethic on the forecheck and backcheck.   A key turning point came in their Saturday matchup against the Nepean Raiders. The Renegades secured a 2-0 victory, with goaltender Ryan Bergin shutting out the opposition. The Renegades made the call to affiliated player, Claudio Pacitto, who joined the team for his season debut. Pacitto was effective in developing offensive opportunities for his line-mates and played responsibly in his own end.   Sunday, the Renegades found themselves without access to their affiliated player pool as both affiliated teams were participating in the Battle of Yonge Street Series. Playing with a short bench, the Renegades drew West Niagara for a second time. Goaltender Hunter Barnett was not going to be outdone. Barnett posted his own shutout in a 4-0 victory.   The Renegades, again playing short benched, dug deep and had a dominant performance in their Championship game, winning 3-1 over the strong Haldimand River Kings. The team took home their first tournament championship of the season and the Essa Tournament Cup along with it.   The team had strong offensive contributions throughout the lineup with seven players registering goals and five different players registering assists.

WAY TO GO U12 A RENEGADES!!
