REMINDER - THE MEMORIAL CUP IS COMING TO NEWMARKET!!
Come to the Magna Centre, New Roads Honda Ice Pad on Saturday, July 20th from 10am - 12noon to meet Saginaw Spirit Captain, Braden Hache and see the Memorial Cup!

Newmarket resident, Renegade alumni and Saginaw Spirit Captain, Braden Hache led the Spirit to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the London Knights in the Memorial Club Championship game! 

Braden played locally for 11 years beginning his minor hockey career in the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association (NMHA) and followed that playing for the AAA York Simcoe Express Hockey Association (YSEHA).

Braden’s organized hockey career began in 2008 with the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association (NMHA)

2008-2009 NMHA Mini Tyke

2009-2010 NMHA Tyke

2010-2011 NMHA Super “7”

Next Braden was on to AAA Minor Hockey with the York Simcoe Express Hockey Association (YSEHA) where he had an extensive stretch of 8 hockey seasons.

Major Novice in 2011 through until Minor Midget concluding in 2019.

Braden is one of few to achieve the illustrious distinction and YSE award receiving a “7” Year Jersey and even took it one step further playing 8 years with YSE, his entire AAA hockey career. 

Drafted into the OHL in the 4th Round 63rd overall by the Kingston Frontenacs in 2019.

Signed and played as a 16 year in 2019 with the Frontenacs.

Drafted into the NHL in the 7th Round 210th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2021.

Played in Kingston with the Frontenacs until mid-season 2023 and was then traded to the Barrie Colts.

A short stint in Barrie, Braden was traded to the Saginaw Spirit for the 2023-24 season and their Memorial Cup run. As the host team, Saginaw was granted an automatic spot in the Championship Finals Tournament. 

Following the Memorial Cup Championship win Braden signed a professional contract with the San Jose Barracudas of the AHL where he hopes to start play for the 2024-25 season.

·         2011 Can-Am Challenge Cup Lake Placid Champions

·         2019 selected to play in the OHL Gold Cup

·         2019 invited to Canada ‘s National under 17 Development Camp

·         2019 won Bronze at the OMHA Championships

·         Assistant Captain of the Kingston Frontenacs for the 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023 seasons

·         Attended 2 Florida Panthers training camps and an Arizona Coyotes training camp

·         Captain of the Saginaw Spirit 2023 - 2024

·         2024 Memorial Cup Championship

·         2024 Recipient of the Mickey Renaud Captains Trophy, OHL Captain of the Year

The Memorial Cup is the Championship for the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), the top Major Junior program in Canada and arguably the world.
