The U12AA Renegades participated in the Newmarket Early Bird Tournament this past weekend. With a number of top ranked teams in the province scheduled to play, the Renegades knew they would have to bring their A game if they were going to compete for the Gold.
After a tie, a loss and two wins, the Renegades advanced to the finals to face the only team they were defeated by in the tournament – North Toronto.
They knew it would be a battle with North Toronto popping two quick goals in the first but by the second period, the Renegades found their stride and made a huge comeback scoring 6 goals in a 15-minute timeframe.
The Renegades kept the momentum going and managed to defeat North Toronto with a final score of 6-3 – winning the Newmarket Renegades Early Bird Tournament for the U12 AA Division.
