Get Ready for the 15th Annual Battle of Yonge Street!
Home & Home Weekend is back!  A tradition that started in 2006 has grown into an annual weekend long community event with the Newmarket Renegades facing off against the Aurora Tigers in a series of games taking place from Oct 21-23, 2022 at the Magna Centre, Aurora Community Centre and Stronach ARC. This is one of the most exciting weekends of the year for our athletes, with some friendly competition against our neighbours to the south!

In 2019, the Renegades tied it up, so we head into the 15th Annual Weekend with each association having 7 wins under their belt! Ceremonial puck drop by Newmarket Mayor, John Taylor and Aurora Mayor, Tom Mrakas will be Fri Oct 21st at 7pm at the Magna Centre, Forhan rink ahead of the U18A game, with the U18AA game to follow at 9pm. Come out and cheer on our Renegades!!

A BIG THANK YOU to our Home & Home Weekend Sponsors – Dickie’s No Frills & Kelseys Original Roadhouse Aurora for generously donating Player of the Game Awards for both teams during all the Newmarket home games in the series.

Friday evening from 5-9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am-8pm you can purchase Renegades apparel as well as the NEW Battle of Yonge St merch on sale this year at the Magna Centre lower-level lobby. AC Studios Sports Photography will also be on site photographing all of the games.

This annual event also provides us all a great opportunity to give back in our community. To this end, Oct 21st-23rd, NMHA, in partnership with Home & Home Weekend Sponsor Dickie’s No Frills will be hosting a Food Drive event in support of the Newmarket Food Pantry at the Magna Centre.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items throughout the weekend. Please view the most needed items.

Thank you so much for helping us to stock the Newmarket Food Pantry’s shelves and support their efforts to feed those in need in our community!
