Newmarket Renegades U13 AE Champions in Mount Brydges Cougars Showdown Tournament
Submitted By Chris Neale on Tue 04 26, 22
This past weekend the Newmarket Renegades U13 AE team competed in the annual Mount Brydges Cougars Showdown Tournament and took the Gold, returning home as Champions.

The tournament involved a 3 game placement round where Newmarket went 2-0-1 which was enough to be first in our pool and secure a spot in the semi-finals.

On Sunday morning our team competed hard and won their semi-finals match 2-0 against Durham, taking us to the championship game that afternoon.

In the finals we faced off against the Mount Brydges U13 AE hosting team - a destined battle that has been in the making since 2020 where we were named the AE2 OMHA co-champions and Mount Brydges the AE4 OMHA co-champions.

In the end Newmarket prevailed winning the match 3-1 to take home the gold.  The game was fast paced and even though we were outshot, our goalies throughout the tournament but especially in the final two games were outstanding and led us to victory.  Go Renegades!

The U13 AE Renegades would like to thank their coaching staff and parents for making this a truly exciting and memorable way to end the season and we would also like to thank Mount Brydges for hosting a great tournament.
