U14AA - Garden City Early Bird Tournament Champions!!
Submitted By Chris Neale on Monday, October 18, 2021
It was an amazing start to the Newmarket Renegades U14 AA hockey season. This past  weekend the team travelled to the Garden City Early Bird Tournament and brought home the first tournament championship for the Newmarket Renegades!

The team started off Friday night with a 4-1 win over the Richmond Hill Stars and then a close 2-1 win over the Brampton 45's.  On Saturday the boys competed hard against a tough Niagara Falls Flyers team, beating them 6-2 to complete the round robin.

Facing Niagara Falls again in the semi finals, the boys earned a 3-1 victory setting up a final against a local rival, the Richmond Hill Stars.  This group of players would not be denied and pulled out a very solid 3-1 victory for the tournament championship!

The weekend was the beginning of our journey this season; it was a weekend filled with great hockey, team building and many laughs. On behalf of our coaching staff - I would like to thank all of the parents and families for cheering the boys on whether you were at the rink or on Team Snap.

We are extremely proud of these players and this team accomplishment.  Hockey is back baby!

Head Coach
