OUR CHANCE TO GIVE BACK!
Submitted By Chris Neale on Sun 04 25, 21
Hello Renegade Families,

The NMHA and our Renegade players and families have a long tradition of giving back to our community locally and around the world. Each year many of our team families participate in various important community initiatives. With that in mind the York Simcoe Express Community Relations Committee is planning two events for this September and partnering with member organizations for these very worthwhile causes.

See invitation to participate from YSE below:

Hello Newmarket Renegade Families,

While the hockey season unfortunately has come to an early end, we are all optimistically looking ahead to the fall when hockey will start back up again.

That being said, the YSE Community Relations Committee is planning two events for this upcoming September that will benefit from any planned spring cleaning you're about to do.

Hockey 4 Community

With the success of the YSE Winter Coat Drive these past several years, we are excited to partner with several local minor hockey associations to expand this important community program.

To date, YSE has donated over 1400 winter clothing items to local community support organizations such as Belinda's Place, Blue Door Shelters & York Hills Centre for Children, Youth and Families.

This year, Hockey 4 Community (formally YSE Winter Coat Drive) will have a donation bin with signage inside the Magna Centre. The donation bin will be by the hockey arena entrance for the entire month of September for you to drop off your donations. Items needed: Children, Women and Men's winter coats, boots, snow pants, toques, mitts & running shoes.

1st Nations Hockey Equipment Drive

YSE along with our local hockey associations are partnering with 1st Nations Hockey Equipment Drive to hold a 'Drive-By' event located in the south parking lot at the Magna Centre on the following dates:

- Saturday, September 11               10am-2pm
- Sunday, September 12                  10am-2pm
- Saturday, September 18                10am-2pm
- Sunday, September 19                  10am-2pm

Equipment Needed:(Please note we can not accept any Jerseys, Socks, Jocks, Jills - any clothing of any kind)

- Sticks
- Shoulder Pads
- Hockey Pants
- Skates
- Elbow Pads
- Gloves
- Shin Pads
- Helmets
- Goalie Pads

Graham McWaters, who founded the 1st Nations Hockey Equipment Drive, is thrilled to be joining us in this event.

Please check out their website  https://fnhed.theiropportunity.com/ to see how incredible this organization is.

The First Nation communities and their youth will benefit greatly from our collective efforts.

Please see attached flyers for both events to share with family, friends and on social media or email.
