2020-2021 SEASON UPDATE
Hello Newmarket Renegade Families,

With yesterday’s news of another four week move to the Grey-Zone lockdown stage we have come to the disappointing decision to officially cease operations and all programming for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season.

When we were forced to cut short our 2019-2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic I don’t think any of us dreamed that it would have such a dramatic effect on the 2020-2021 season and on our everyday lives.

Our entire organization including coaches, trainers, board members and our administration worked tirelessly all season to plan and execute a safe hockey environment that allowed our kids to get on the ice.

The Town of Newmarket was also instrumental in working with us to make ice available. And, of course we couldn’t have done any of this without the patience and understanding of you, our Renegade families!

The word ‘pivot’ has been used a lot this year and it wasn’t just on the ice! As an association it was so gratifying to see us all work together to make the best of a difficult situation. The patience and support of all our Renegade families was truly amazing.

Your NMHA Executive will now look towards the 2021-2022 season, September tryouts and hopefully a return to normal life.

We will be finalizing the costs of our season to date and calculating the appropriate refunds for each player. Once this is approved by the NMHA Executive we will notify each of our members. Our preferred method of issuing refunds will be to apply it as a credit towards 2021-2022 registration fees. This will reduce the cost of administering those refunds. Of course, cash refunds will be issued for those requesting them.

We thank you in advance for your patience as we work through these complex calculations and ask that you do not contact the office regarding refunds at this time. We will be contacting each family individually over the next month with your refund amount.

Sincerely,

NMHA Executive
