DEVELOPMENT PLAN (2020/21)
The NMHA is seeking three qualified candidates for our all new
“Hockey
Development” positions for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
The three separate positions are volunteer roles within the
NMHA reporting to the VP of Rep and working closely with the Coach Mentor and our
association’s rep coaches.

COACH DEVELOPMENT PLAN (2020/21)
The NMHA is seeking three qualified candidates for our all new “Hockey Development” positions for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
The three separate positions are volunteer roles within the NMHA reporting to the VP of Rep and working closely with the Coach Mentor and our association’s rep coaches. These positions are responsible for delivering team hockey skill, team tactics, and athletic development by embracing the NMHA pre-established curriculum.
The three NMHA Representative Development positions are as follows:
Dev1 *Half-ice Hockey (U8/U9 – to include HL)
Dev2 *U10 to U13
Dev3 *U14 to U18
Candidates for each position shall possess the following:
· Minimum of three (3) years’ experience of coaching at the rep level
· D1 Certification or have plans to complete by start of season (if applicable)
· Strong knowledge of minor hockey development
· Good communication and organizational skills
· Ability to pass background check
· Exhibit a positive attitude and behaviors consistent with NMHA vision, mission, values, and culture
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with VP of Rep and Coach Mentor to deploy season plans and age/level appropriate tactics.
• Oversee coaches to ensure plans are executed as designed by NMHA
• Ability to watch minor hockey on a regular basis.
• Able to work seamlessly and collaboratively with various coaches and teams within NMHA.
· Approximately 10 hours/week (each position)
· Capable of providing on-ice support & skill development during practices
· Report weekly to VP, Rep & Coach Mentor
· Provide a monthly report to VP, Rep including, but not limited to, Development of each team in their age categories
· Must see every rep team play within their age categories at least once/month
· Help establish, implement & evaluate on-ice & off-ice technical development
· Ensure the implementation of development programs are consistent with Hockey Canada, OHF & OMHA guidelines
· Participate & provide feedback in the tryout process for designated age groups
· Assist (or Lead) NMHA Coach Development Clinics (on/off ice)
· Assist in an age appropriate manual
