NMHA's New Name & Logo are Announced!
Submitted By Jennifer Neale on Fri 05 22, 20
After months of work behind the scenes, the NMHA’s new name and logo have been unveiled! The Redmen name is officially changing to Newmarket Renegades.

A lot of discussion and thought has gone into the name selection, starting with an open call to the NMHA membership for name suggestions back in December. After receiving nearly 300 submissions, the Rebranding Committee went to work on narrowing down the nearly 100 unique name suggestions. It wasn’t an easy task – there were a lot of excellent ideas put forward.

There was an overwhelming response to incorporate aspects of the town’s history and heritage into the new name. We received many submissions that related to the Rebellion of 1837, an event that helped to shape our growing community. The name ‘Renegades’, born out of this rebellion, is strong and spirited like our players. We are challengers of the status quo. We abandon the “average” in our pursuit of excellence. The Newmarket Renegades are a force to be reckoned with. Fierce. Powerful. Relentless.

The NMHA would like to thank all of the talented local designers who contributed their creativity to the logo design process. There were many amazing concepts but ultimately, we could only choose one. The skilled designer behind our new Renegades logo is Kyle Ospreay, the owner of Nanuq Design, a local Newmarket based firm specializing in graphic design, branding, and website development. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Kyle for all of his hard work! We have no doubt that our players, coaches, and parents will wear the new logo proudly for years to come.
