NMHA launches Online Catch the Ace Raffle – You Could Win Big While Supporting Local Minor Hockey!
Submitted By Jennifer Neale on Monday, March 23, 2020
The Newmarket Minor Hockey Association is excited to announce the launch of NMHA Catch the Ace, our brand new online progressive jackpot raffle. Based on the “Chase the Ace” lottery that gained huge popularity in Atlantic Canada, NMHA Catch the Ace is one of the first online progressive jackpot raffles to be offered in Ontario.

Tickets are NOW AVAILABLE at NMHAcatchtheace.ca starting at just 2 for $5, and offer a chance to WIN BIG with both a Weekly Prize and a larger Progressive Jackpot that goes to the winner who “catches” the Ace of Spades.  50% of all ticket sales will go to support the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association.

How it Works:

  • Go online to buy your tickets at: NMHAcatchtheace.ca (2 tickets for $5, 5 for $10, 20 for $20, or 80 for $40)
  • Select the envelope where you think the Ace of Spades is hiding. If your ticket is chosen, you'll take home 20% of that week's ticket sales, and, if your envelope contains the Ace of Spades, you also win the Catch the Ace Progressive Jackpot of 30% of all ticket sales to date!
  • If your card is not the Ace of Spades, it will be removed from the deck, increasing the chances of catching the Ace the following week. The Progressive Jackpot will continue to grow with 30% of all weekly ticket sales being added to the pot.
  • The Weekly Raffle winning ticket number will be drawn at random every Friday night at 7pm, with the first draw commencing on Friday March 6, 2020.
  • Following each Friday evening draw, a new weekly draw will be launched with the updated Progressive Jackpot. Players can then visit NMHAcatchtheace.ca to buy new tickets for the following week’s raffle.
  • Weekly Prize draws will continue until the Ace of Spades is caught, and the Progressive Jackpot is won.
  • 50% of all weekly ticket sales go to support the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association.

“We are very excited to be the first minor hockey association, and one of the first organizations in Ontario to launch this online Catch the Ace Raffle,” says Lynda Carusi, NMHA President. “This is a tremendous fundraising opportunity for the association, and with tickets starting at just $5, this raffle provides the chance for people to win a considerable amount of money and have some fun while supporting minor hockey in Newmarket.”

Some of the major challenges for minor hockey continue to be keeping costs down and developing new strategies to continually attract new players to the game. Minor hockey, whether house league, select or rep, can be a wonderful way for kids to learn life lessons, like how to be part of a team. There are many more, but that one life skill is essential as we go through our own journeys. AND minor hockey is a lot of FUN!

Help support local minor hockey by playing our new NMHA Catch the Ace Raffle! Not only are you helping the youth of your community participate is a great game, you may SCORE SOME BIG CASH!
