Hockey in the Philippines
Submitted By Lynda Carusi on Monday, December 23, 2019
My son Nicolas (Goalie for the select Bantam team and Navy Bantam team), and Logan (player for the Novice Gold team) asked if we could introduce hockey to kids in the Philippines for our trip over Christmas.  So the boys gathered as many mini sticks as they could over the years, and purchased mini nets with there newspaper money, and Nicolas brought old Redmen jerseys from his past years.  We gathered street kids and and brought them to the school yard in Butuan, Philippines and the boys taught them about hockey.  I just had to share this with you, how my kids love for hockey was carried to the other side of the world. They also brought Newmarket pins, lollipops, and let the kids keep all the equipment and jerseys.
