THE NMHA IS LOOKING FOR A REFEREE IN CHIEF!

The NMHA is seeking candidates for the position of Referee-in-Chief.

The Referee-in-Chief is a paid role within the NMHA, reporting to the NMHA Executive. We are seeking all interested and qualified candidates to submit their resumes to the NMHA Hockey Office or via email to [email protected] by 4:00pm on Friday June 1, 2018.


You have proven organizational skills and have a solid working knowledge of the OMHA Rules, Policies and Procedures, as well as the Hockey Canada Official Rule Book and the Hockey Canada Officiating Program. You must also have a solid working knowledge of the various Referee certification processes and requirements.

You will be responsible for the recruiting and development of young officials into the system to ensure the program remains vibrant and that the Association’s officiating needs are met. You are also responsible for the scheduling of officials as well as their performance. You will be expected to liaise closely with the Rep Ice Scheduler and VP of HL (or his designate) to ensure all games have assigned officials. You will also be expected to Supervise and mitigate any officiating disputes and disciplinary issues as well as facilitate monthly official’s meetings and be a sitting member of the Rules Committee.
