Christmas Spirit Alive and Well for NMHA Redmen Tyke MD
Wearing their red jerseys while walking into York Region Police Headquarters with gifts tucked under their arms, the players on the NMHA Redmen Tyke MD hockey team were excited to continue the long-standing Redmen tradition of giving back to our community. Supporting the York Regional Police Holiday Heroes program, the boys collected new unwrapped toys for donation to support families from our community who are in need. On December 14, the boys presented their contribution to Superintendent Betts, who then joined the team for a picture in front of the large Christmas Tree decorating the Atrium.

Since the launch of Holiday Heroes in 2008, York Regional Police has raised more than $1 million in monetary donations, new toys, new children's clothing and food.  As always, all donations raised in York Region, stay in York Region.  Our collaborative efforts will help provide holiday cheer to the thousands of families who registered for assistance through the local Salvation Army programs and Victim Services of York Region.

The Redmen Tyke MD players and families feel fortunate to have been able to play a small part in helping brighten the holidays for others.
