On Tuesday November 23rd the U18AA team volunteered their time at ValleyView Alliance Church to help with Samaritan's Purse, a local charity, and loaded over 4000 gift boxes destined for countries such as El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, and Sierra Leone.
The boxes contained donated gifts and personal use items for disadvantaged children in the underdeveloped world.
This annual U18AA team tradition started over a decade ago by Kirk Kelly and the team has continued it this year in his honor. Kirk Kelly, who passed away last year, was a long time and well respected volunteer with the NMHA who believed that coaches should not only be focused on developing good hockey players, but should also grow good citizens.
