Silver Stick Qualifier in Sudbury
Congratulations
to the Midget AA Redmen who won their Silver Stick Qualifier in Sudbury
on Dec 2nd. The Redmen won all 5 games outscoring their opponents
30-3. In round robin play they beat TNT 5-1, Sault Bruins 7-0, Powassen
Hawks 12-0. In the Semi Finals, the Redmen took on their arch rivals
from Barrie and skated to an exciting 1-0 victory.
The Championship game had the Redmen up against the number 1 ranked team in Ontario, the North York Knights. The Redmen flexed their muscle, rose to the challenge and beat them in a convincing 5-2 fashion. Stellar goaltending, tremendous defensive play and impressive scoring were our keys to success. This was the Boys 2nd tournament win of the season and have now earned a spot in the Midget AA International Silver Stick Final this January in Sarnia. Congratulations boys, tremendous performance.
