    Orangeville AE/MD Early Bird Tournament

    All games are played under the Hockey Canada and Ontario Minor Hockey Association Rules.

    Important Tournament Notes:

    1. Each Team must bring 2 sets of sweaters to each game. Home team should wear dark color and visitors should wear light. HOME/VISITOR will be recorded and communicated on the schedule and game sheets.
    2. All official game sheets will be available for signing prior to the game at the tournament desk. You will be able to pickup game sheets after each game at the tournament desk. Game sheets need to be signed by the appropriate team officials, and filled out correctly and accurately to avoid any possible disqualification from the tournament.
    3. Dressing rooms shall be available 30 mins prior to each game scheduled. Keys are available at tournament desk.
    4. All teams are expected to be an hour early for their initial game on the Friday bringing with them a paper copy of their travel permit and updated roster.

    Game Times:

    1. Game time length will be 10.10.15 for each and all divisions. Including semi-finals and final games.
    2. When a 5 goal differential is met during game play the clock will run during the 3rd period unless the score differential comes back within 3.
    3. All players and coaches are expected to be at the arena 30 minutes prior to start of each game and be prepared to start a game 15 minutes early prior to their scheduled game time.
    4. A 3 minute warm-up time will be applied before each game. Once the ice is cleaned, the clock will start at 13 minutes, at 11 minutes the buzzer will go, and pucks need to be gathered and coaches can then talk to their team. The game clock will start running at the 10 minute mark if teams aren’t ready and lined up for the face off.
    5. No time-outs during round robin play. 1-30 second time out will be granted per team in semi-finals or finals.
    6. No pictures on ice will be permitted after a game, to keep game schedules on time.

    Team Rosters:

    • Approved rosters must be submitted to the tournament director a minimum 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament.
    • It is strongly recommended to bring and dress two goalies for your scheduled games.
    • Affiliated or “AP” players must be on your approved roster to participate in any game during the tournament

    Travel Permits and Permissions:

    • Travel permits and permission letters must be signed and submitted to the tournament director a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament.

    Tournament Composition:

    There will be 2 points awarded for a win, 1 point awarded for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. 

    Ties in the Standings:

    Ties in round robin play will be broken down in the following order:

    1. If two teams are tied the team that will be considered the higher rank will be
      1. Winner of the game between the two teams played in round robin (If applicable)
      2. Goal Differential.  Goals for divided by goals against.
      3. Team with fewest goals against.
      4. Team with least combination of penalty minutes through round robin play
    2. If three teams are tied in the standings the highest rank to lowest will be.

      2. Team with fewest goals against.
      3. Team with least combination penalty minutes in round robin play

    Championship Game:

    The Championship game in each division will remain 10-10-15 minute stop time period. If the game is tied after 3 periods they will play a 5 minute runtime overtime period. If the game remains tied it will proceed to a shootout. Both players from each team go at the same time, first team to score wins. All players on a team must be used once before a player can repeat shooting. 

     

     

    **All decisions made by the tournament convener and Orangeville Minor Hockey are final.  The tournament director will convey any decision to the participating teams, coach and manager and that decision is final, no protests will be allowed. **
