Peewee AA – Sylvia Tremblett Memorial Regional Silver Stick AA Finalists
Congratulations to the Redmen Peewee AA team for a Finalist finish at the Sylvia Tremblett Memorial Regional Silver Stick AA tournament held this past weekend Nov 16-19, 2017 in Georgina, ON.  The tournament included 3 groups of 4 teams including several of the top teams in Ontario.  Our Peewee team advanced through the Preliminary round undefeated earning victories over the Forest Hill Force, Georgina Blaze and Pickering Panthers, seeding them in 2nd place heading into the playoff rounds.

In a tight 2v3 Semi Final game Sunday morning, the Redmen came out on top with a 3-1 victory over the Leaside Flames to earn a berth in the Championship game later that day.  In the Championship game, the team met the top ranked and 2016 Silver Stick Finals Champions, North York Knights.  In a thrilling final, the Redmen went up 1-0 early in the 1st period but had fallen behind 2-1 into the 3rd period.  With 5 mins left in the 3rd, the Redmen tied it up 2-2 to send the game into overtime. After the first overtime period expired with the game still knotted at 2-2, a second 10 minute overtime was required to decide the winner.  The 2nd overtime period started as a 4v4 game with a player being taken off after each two minutes of play. Finally, in a 1v1 situation with 1:25 minutes remaining in the game, the Knights scored to win the Championship with the Redmen taking home Silver.   All of the coaches and parents are so proud of this amazing group of kids, thank you for a fantastic weekend, and to the families for their unwavering support this season.   Great job Redmen!
