So close in Niagara Falls!!!!
The Minor Atom 'A' team had a great time in Niagara Falls on the weekend but try explaining to your team how you can lose by less than a goal!!
We missed out on a shot at the semi-finals in Niagara Falls by .6%.
One more goal for or 1 less against and we would have been in!

The team started strong with a 6-0 win over the Toronto Aeros and followed that up with a 6-2 victory over the St Catherine's Falcons. We knew we would be in tough Saturday morning against Whitby and ended up falling 4-2. Still feeling pretty good about our chances there was some feverish calculating going on in the lobby. The end result was that we were edged out of the semi's by the Quinte West Hawks. Our goals percent average was an even 70% and theirs was 70.6%. A tough way to go out but the Team played great! The Coaches and the Parents couldn't be happier of the way this group has come together as a team.
With a full day left to spend in Niagara Falls what is a team of 9 year olds to do? The kids spent hours in the water park, some spent hours in Perkin's with the rest touring around Niagara Falls and going out for dinner. Of course running around the hotel and relocating the mini sticks game after security would move them from one spot was a primary focus for the kids.
All in all it was a great weekend of hockey by the kids and tons of fun for both the kids and the parents!!
